2 Months Down

Today we've been officially waiting for 2 months. At the agency referrals for other families came in on June 24th. Those families log in dates are end of November and the first part of December. It it keeps going like this, we'll get Maelynn's information mid or late November.

It is hard to be in this waiting pattern. I couldn't imagine having to wait 14 months which use to be normal when our friends Mindy and Steve adopted Sydney. You try to distance yourself because if you don't it'll drive you crazy. Then at the same time, you can't stop thinking about her. Logan is so sweet about her. He talks about how he's going to be a big brother. He's asked his cousin Tory and Danielle if they new his sister's name and then proceeded to tell them. He also thinks of her often. Like, 'We need to get another ice cream or sucker for my sister'. It is very sweet.

Thank you to everyone for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers!

Wait

It's going to be a long summer. We've been waiting for just over a month. It seems like we have such a long way to go. The hot, humid weather officially arrived this weekend. Erich and I worked on sets for Wizard of Oz. He built and I painted along with about 20 other people. It was a good turn out for such a nasty day. Logan enjoyed himself playing at the park, woods, and creek. One of the girls from the show agreed to hang out with him so we could work. Thanks Hannah! Erich was cast in Godspell to go on stage in August. Today I had softball. Our team is not doing so well. We've won one, tied 2, and lost several. Oz opens on Thursday. It'll be fun. Erich leaves on mission this Sunday. I'm rambling. Sorry.

My sister, Karen, is much inspiration to me. She's announced she's retiring from the day care business! She's been doing this for about 14 years! Nothing is lined up yet, but her faith is seeing her through. If anyone knows of a job opening, I know of a dedicated person who's interested.

Maelynn, I think of you every day. You are never far from my thoughts. I think of next year at this time what we'll be doing. You can play in the dirt with Logan at the softball park. You'll get to watch the shows at Blue Ash Amphitheater. You'll get to enjoy all the yummy food at summer cookouts. I know it may sound weird, but I miss you!

Here's a link to our adoption agency. The chart at the bottom explains how referrals are going right now. http://www.ftia.org/hotnews/china_referral_update.html You can then browse through the agency if you'd like. They are located in Evansville, IN and have a satellite office here in Cincinnati. I am looking forward to the picnic they have in July. We plan on going even though Maelynn is not home yet. I want to meet Kate, our coordinator. She's been wonderful with us! Thank you Kate!
