In Guangzhou

We are now in Guangzhou. The flight went well. Logan sat next to our guide, Jeanie. He has warmed up to her. They played with silly puddy, colored, and played the game boy together. Not much happened so I'll tell you about the hotel rooms. In Beijing, it was a 4 or 5 star hotel. The ammenities included: bath robes and slippers, unbrella, power cords, a scale in the bathroom, sewing kit, toothbrushes, shower cap, bottled water, shampoo, conditioner, cotton balls, q-tips, etc. There was a bath tub and shower. Very nice.

We are now in the famous White Swan hote. I was worried about space in the room and we looked into getting a suite. Having the fold-away bed and crib would be tight if the rooms were the same size as the Beijing hotel. Don't get me wrong, it was a good size. Just not enough for 4. It would cost an additional $120 a night at the White Swan. We are here for another 12 nights, you do the math. However, the room we have will work out great. Logan is sleeping on the floor between the twin beds. The took out the fold-away bed. The crib will be delivered tomorrow.

16 and a half hours until she is in our arms. I emailed a pediatrician from Cincinnati, Dr Borch. She specializes in foreign adoptions. She is in a practice in Eastgate area. I wanted to know if we should treat us for scabies and if we should do that before we get her like a pre-treatment. She said we should only really treat her. We will bath her and put on the medicine and put her in clean clothes. We will wash the medicine off 10 hours later. She said not to wash the clothes here in China, but store them in a ziplock. If she has trouble transitioning, it is OK to put the clothes under her crib sheets for the scent. Scabies is transfered skin to skin so the clothes should be OK.

Also, please keep a family here in your prayers. 20 minutes before the bus left for the airport, John was taken to the Beijing hospital with kidney stones. A guide, Katherine, went with him. His wife had to get on the plane to go to the province so she could get their daughter tomorrow. I am heartbroken for her. I don't know what I would do if something happened to my boys. I have tears just thinking about what she must be going through. The folks in her travel group will take care of her and make sure she is OK. Please pray for our health too.
